Franke Wire
Race Ball Bearings
In 1934 Mr E Franke invented the wire race ball bearing.
With this system the rolling elements are not in direct contact with the enclosing bearing
ring. They run on spring-hard wire rings which are provided with ground races. The
specific advantages of this bearing type are e.g. space saving, inner flexibility, high
load capacity, robustness and free selection of materials.
During the seventies the principles of the bearing system
were applied to the sector of linear guides. In the meantime both structural elements, the
Franke antifriction bearing as well as the Franke linear guide, have prevailed among
experts.
